Earth Science: Earthquakes!

Introduction:
In this art activity students will make a map of California and mark the location of major earthquakes. From this, they will deduce the location of major faults.

Equipment Included in Kit:

Permanent Equipment

  1. 30 laminated earthquake fact sheets
  2. Topographic map of California
  3. Map of the major faults in California
Consumables
  1. colored pencils
  2. blank California maps
  3. stickers


Instructors Prep and Hints:
  • Check the supply of colored pencils, sharpen or replace if necessary
  • Check the supply of blank maps, copy more if necessary
  • Check the supply of stickers, restock if necessary
